The Apostle Paul is a larger-than-life figure within the Christian world, and his letter to the believers in Rome is considered his most important writing. Powerful and passionate, The Law and the Spirit of Life offers a fresh and broadly researched perspective on the book of Romans. More than just a study of the biblical text, this enlightening book engages in a study of the studies on Paul and this epistle.
Bill Blackmon takes readers on a geographical, historical, and theological journey, answering questions such as: Why did God direct Paul to write this letter? What was its primary purpose? As the author definitively establishes, Romans embodies the core of the Christian faith, and without it, the Church would not exist as it does today.
Inviting a myriad of voices to contribute their insights to the study, Dr. Blackmon crafts a valuable resource for all those—clergy or laity, believer or not—who want to deepen their understanding of God and His salvation offered to humanity.

Reviews
“I am truly amazed by the breadth and depth of thought invested in this massive undertaking. I believe this book makes a valuable contribution to the serious student’s understanding and appreciation of both the importance of Paul and the importance of his ‘Crown Jewel’ – the Book of Romans. This is a fine work of surveying the issues and diversity of opinions that emerged early in church history and continue to this day. Indeed, much will forever be disputed but this work does an excellent job of sifting through the sidetracks and getting back to the main message.”

“You have a wonderful jewel which opens eyes much as Paul’s eyes were opened to the Spirit of the Crucified and Risen One to bring Light, Joy, Faith, Hope, Love and Peace.”
- Rev. Dr. Harley Johnson, Retired Pastor, The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada
